New video clips from the forthcoming film Edible City

New trailer for Edible City.

Support Edible City‘s fundraising efforts.

Hidden between buildings and across networks of backyards, germinating in classrooms and sprouting up in city centers, a grassroots movement is thriving in the Bay Area.

Edible City, the forthcoming documentary from East Bay Pictures, follows the stories of folks who are digging their hands into the dirt, fighting for sustainability and social justice by doing something truly revolutionary: growing a local food system.

Now we’re nearing the finish line, aiming to complete the film in early 2010. A recent grant from the Studio for Urban Projects in San Francisco has been a big help, and we just need one last fundraising push before calling it a wrap. To do this, we’ve joined up with an exciting new website called kickstarter.com. It’s a social micro-funding site that makes it easy for folks to pledge a little or a lot, and easy for us to thank our supporters with great rewards like DVDs, private dinners and screenings, a chance to give your input on the final cut, and even get a producer credit on the film! There’s only one catch: we just have until February 2nd to raise our goal of $5000. We’ve done great so far, with over $1200 pledges. We know we can do it and finish the film with your help!
