Daisy and the Wonder Weeds

Musical about how an urban lawn becomes a food farm
Book, Music and Lyrics by Jean Elliott Manning
Directed by Andy Cuk
August 18 and 19
Montreal, Quebec
In the year 2020, the sprawling city of Megapolis is a tangle of freeways, off-ramps, and traffic jams. Over the traffic and the noise, a mysterious voice proclaims a brand new spring when a daisy and a weed fall in love: a musical about how an urban lawn becomes a food farm.
From Jean Elliott Manning:
Yes, ‘Daisy and the Wonder Weeds’ has been produced in two schools, one here in Montreal, the other in Charleston, SC. (We did it first with children to test the music. A big success.)

However, this summer’s production will be performed by professional singers. We’re family friendly, but not ‘for kids only’. The tone is neo-mythical: fun and funny, but poignant as well.
Regarding the book, a brief by-line:
In sprawling MEGAPOLIS, (somewhere between Oz and Detroit), FLOWERS faint when WILD WEEDS invade their garden. But when they discover that Mr. Much Much Megamore plans to pave their home, Daisy and Dandelion join forces to fight the Bulldozers, grow a Wonder Weed … and change Megapolis forever. (P.S. We’re not talking about That Kind of Weed: This is for the family.)

My daugther Cassandra Degni played the roll of Daisy (shown the picture form this site) while she attended her grade 4 at Michelangelo Elementary School in Montreal.
She just found out by her former music teacher from Michelangelo that a musical was produced. She would have enjoyed going to watch the musical would she have known when it played. Is there another representation coming up? If so, when?
Thank you,
Mary Romano
