Touring Montreal’s Urban Agriculture

I love the concept of urban agriculture. We really don’t need a lot of space to grow some of our own food in the city. I keep a small garden that could probably sustain me through most of the summer. Not to mention how nice it is to reach for a tomato or pepper and know that it was picked fresh just minutes ago. Yum.

Montreal is actually a hotspot for urban agriculture, and UQAM wants to share it with you. They’ve put together two walking tours or urban agriculture in Montreal. Both are two hours and take you from rooftop gardens to community gardens and more. It’s a unique perspective on our city.

For more information, visit the UQAM Coeur des science web site.
The tours and the information are in French. They take place downtown and in Villeray. If you’re unilingual anglophone, grab a bilingual friend and take the tour together!
