Photo of the City Farmer’s entrance gate

Gate by metal sculptor, Davide Pan.

Internationally acclaimed local metal sculptor, Davide Pan designed our gate. Pan welded together old gardening tools and bits of rusty metal to create the piece that locks down by night and lifts up above the garden by day. Creaking chains and “rocks in bondage” counterweights give medieval flair to the old-fashioned pulley system.
Davide Pan is well known for his work with recycled materials. Several of his pieces were included in the touring “Hello Again”, an international exhibit of recycled art that showed at the Vancouver Museum last year. Most recently he showed at the Simon Patrich Gallery (Continental Drift. The Surrealist Influence) and the Community Arts Council (Show of Hands). Pan’s work is part of private and public collections throughout North America and Europe. Born in Schio, Italy, Pan currently lives and works in Vancouver.
