Dona Turner: I’ve always been interested in social justice issues and have always had a vegetable garden—either raised beds in our yard or a plot in a community garden. And I’ve recently become a film maker, so, Dig It! is a natural outcome from these two interests. The 7 minute film was shot in Oakland and Berkeley using Kodak Zi8 HD cameras and edited using FCP7. Using tiny cameras allows interview subjects to be stay relaxed—how bad can it be if the camera is the size of a phone?
