For a woman worth a reported $2.7 billion, Oprah Winfrey sure gets excited about eggs.
The 58-year-old talk show host gave her Twitter fans a glimpse of her idyllic life at her Hawaiian holiday home.
The media mogul is seen proudly displaying a basket full of fresh eggs from her newly acquired chickens.
‘Look what I just gathered. Chickens are workin’,’ she tweeted to her 15.2 million followers.
Oprah appears to be standing on her backyard deck alongside purple flowers and freshly cut greens as an impressive view of Maui unfolds in the landscape.
The Oscar-nominated actress likely got the idea of raising chickens from her next-door-neighbour, interior designer Penny Bianchi, who spoke with the Daily Mail last year about their decade-long friendship.
‘I was feeding the chickens and she walked over to the fence and said, “Good morning.” I was so shocked I thought I was going to fall down, she has such a huge energy about her,’ Bianchi recalled.
‘I said “How do you like my chickens” it was so embarrassing. She said, “I love your chickens” then I managed to say I’m Penny and she said “I’m Oprah.”‘
Penny would share her fresh eggs with Winfrey and she was soon whisked over to attend star-studded parties and received gifts from the billionaire – including a pair of painted Italian ornamental chickens and chicken-themed drinking mugs.
